GLGY 435 - Field Methods - Spring 2018

Field study of geometrically complex geological problems. Involves independent mapping and report writing. Field exercises will normally be conducted away from Calgary for about 10-12 days preceding the Fall Term or following the Winter Term.
This course may not be repeated for credit.

Notes

  • This course occurs in rugged field conditions and varying weather, for which participants must be prepared and equipped. It may occur outside Canada. Students will be required to cover food and accommodation costs, and a supplemental fee will be assessed to cover the costs of equipment and other resources. Students will require consent of the department to drop this course.

Prerequisite(s)

  • Geology 323, 337 and 381; one of Geology 311 or 333; one of Geology 341 or 343 and admission to the Geology or Applied and Environmental Geology programs and consent of the Department.

Antirequisite(s)

  • Credit for Geology 435 and either Geology 437 or 439 will not be allowed.
