Dinosaur egg treasure trove found in Japan

Researchers have discovered fragments of fossilized dinosaur eggs in Southern Japan. Read more here.


Congratulations to Leanne Tingley, recipient of the 2015 Andrew D. Baillie Award from the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) for her poster "A Study of Jurassic Paleoenvironment and Paleoclimate in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin Using Foraminiferal Assemblages".


Congratulations to both Tunde and Shahpoor whose presentations at the May GeoConvention have won the following awards: 

Babatunde ArenrinBest Student Poster Presentation for “Comparing step-length calculation using well logs with a line search method.” 

Shahpoor Moradi:  Honorable Mention, Student Oral Presentation for “Seismic wave scattering in viscoelastic media: Born approximation”   

Tunde came out on top out of over 100 posters, and Shahpoor received his honorable mention competing against almost 300 oral presentations!

 PhD student's research uncovers dinosaur diversity in Japan

Geoscience PhD student Kohei Tanaka and his supervisor, Darla Zelenitsky, have been working on analyzing and identifying dinosaur eggshell fossils discovered in Japan. Read More Here.
