How to Apply

Comprehensive application information for prospective students can be found on the U of C's Prospective Students page.

The deadline for undergraduate applications is April 1.

Admission Information

If you're attending a Canadian high school, you'll be required to present the following courses for admission to the Faculty of Science:

  • English Language Arts 30 (or provincial equivalent)
  • Pure Math 30 (or equivalent)
  • Two of the following: Biology 30, Chemistry 30 , Physics 30 or Math 31 (or equivalents)
  • One additional Grade 12 subject

 

Please Note

Chemistry 30 is required for all Geoscience prorams. Math 31 and Physics 30 are strongly recommended for most programs.

High School graduates require a strong background in math, chemistry, physics and English, and in some cases biology, to prepare for the university programs in the geosciences. Familiarity with computers is essential.

In addition to the requirements above, students will be required to meet the competitive average for their desired program. Admission averages vary from year to year. You may find admission averages for the previous two years online.

Tuition and other fees are set by the University and the Registrar's Office.
